Is this a subscription?

No. You pay once ($4.8 during launch, through Aug 10 or the first 100 licenses, then $12) and the app is yours, updates included. If we ever make a paid “2.0”-style upgrade, your version keeps working.

Where do my notes actually live?

In a folder you choose (default ~/meeemo), as plain .md files. Open them in anything: Obsidian, vim, Finder. Delete Meeemo tomorrow and you lose nothing.

How does sync work? Do you run a server?

There is no server. iCloud sync moves your folder into iCloud Drive and Apple handles the carrying. GitHub sync uses a private repo you own; every push is a commit, doubling as version history. Credentials stay on your Mac.

What does “AI-native” mean concretely?

Meeemo ships a CLI (list, read, write notes; add and check off todos; manage comments) plus a ready-made skill file for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. Your agent can jot notes, manage lists, and leave comments mid-conversation, and the app refreshes live as it writes. No API keys, no integration setup. It's just files.

How many Macs can I use one license on?

It's a personal license: use it on the Macs you own and work on. We're not counting chairs.

Does it phone home?

The app works fully offline. Activating a license calls home once; after that it re-checks quietly about monthly and never locks you out if you're offline.

Wasn't Meeemo open source?

It was: v0.3 shipped under GPL and you can still find forks of it. Meeemo went commercial at v0.4 so one developer can keep working on it seriously. The $4.8 is the deal we make: you fund the roadmap, you own the app.

macOS says the app "cannot be opened"?

The build isn't notarized by Apple yet, so Gatekeeper is cautious the first time. Right-click Meeemo.app in Applications and choose Open, then confirm. macOS remembers your choice and never asks again.
